New Music That I am Obsessed With
Powerful Stuff- Sean Hayes
Hell On Heels- Pistol Annies
You and Tequila (feat Grace Potter)- Kenney Chesney
I Will Exalt- Bethel Live
The verse of the week fits in perfectly with this weeks holiday.
1st Thessalonians 5:18
"In everything give thanks to God for this is His will for you in Christ Jesus."
Btw, that was paraphrased.
I learned something this week. I learned that when I get grumpy and butt heads with people and I am really contentious, it is not because people are being really dumb,it is because I have forgotten to be thankful. When I beccome thankful for everything, I become more joyful and people do not bother me.
Hmmm.
I am going to work on that.

Rant #1
This is a caffiene-fueled rant- fair warning.
So I'm in college now. I love college and I love the campus, the classes, the atmosphere. I love it, I really do. But some things, they just tick. me. off.
Item Number One
I went to the Homecoming dance. I bought a little, black dress and I looked classy hot. I was there with some girlfriends (boyfriend had mono) and we were there to have fun and dance. Now, I understand that people like to grind as a form of "dancing" and honestly, while I think that its kinda dumb, I also feel that people can do whatever they want. What bothers me is this: My friend and I were dancing together and having fun and all of a sudden, this guy comes up behind her, grabs her hips and starts grinding on her. She whirled around and pushed him away, but he wouldn't take no for answer. He then told her that she was being rude, even though she was being way, way nicer about it than I would have been (side note: I've been known to kick guys when they think it ok to grab my butt). RUDE?! W.T.F? You know what rude is mister frat boy? Rude is when you don't even bother asking a girl to dance, don't even bother to introduce yourself. Rude is when you come up behind someone and try to rub your gentilia against their body. Thats rude. So don't tell me or my friends that WE are being rude.
Now, thats just part one of the problem. See, maybe I shouldn't blame him. The more I thought about I realized that he believes that he has a right to do that and any girl that has a problem with that is just "tripping". Why is that? Oh yeah, I forgot.
Most girls don't care.
Most girls there were bent over, hands on the floor, looking like they were having sex right there on the dance floor.
Most girls there "just go with it"
The most ironic thing I have seen in a long while was that whole ballroom dancing to Beyonce's "Girls Run The World". That song is playing and every girl in there is bent over rubbing their asses up against every guy's junk. I'll betcha not one of those guys has to even ask for it. Is that what girls running the world looks like?
Now, to you girls that think I'm "just jealous" or "mad because they didn't want to dance with me", you are dead wrong.
It makes me sick to my stomach to see each and every one of you behaving like that and I'll tell you why. You are intelligent and beautiful women, but on that dance floor, those guys aren't thinking about that.
The reason I don't dance like that is this. I respect my body and I know darn well that those guys have not earned the right to be rubbing up against me just because there is music playing. None of those guys have earned a right to even touch without my say so. My boyfriend is the only guy who is allowed to touch me without "asking" and if I asked him not to, he wouldn't. He sure as heck would never try to grind on me like that.
I'm not trying to come off as someone who is old-fashioned and a prude and like I said before, I really don't care what YOU want to do on the dance floor. I just have a problem with the fact that girls have allowed it to be acceptable to not ask for permission to dance with them, especially when the dancing is basically simulated sex.
Anyways, thats my first caffiene fueled rant.
:)
I really do love college though.
