I'm back :)

Ohhhkayyyy.
So... I know its been awhile. Sorry!
The Superbowl happened and my team (the all-around awesome Colts) lost. It was sad. Tim Tebow did a commercial with Focus On the Family and there was a lot of hype about it. It was supposed to be pro-life. A bunch of women's groups were upset about it and protested. I'm just curious, why don't they protest the Go-Daddy ads? I mean, those are way more degrading to women then Tebow's mom explaining the choice she made in keeping her son. Just saying.
So on to the next topic.
Me and my guy decided it wasn't working... I don't really want to go into it here but I thought I probably say something. We are still friends though, yay us. I'm not heartbroken or whatever.
For all you girls out there, here is a little advice...
If you are holding hands with a guy and its painful for you... its probably not a good sign, just saying.
Don't let him give you his facebook password. I promise in this case, ignorance is bliss. It causes trouble you don't need to have.
Don't say I love you first.... even if you mean it.
I saw Dear John this weekend.... it was good... but I still like A Walk To Remember and The Notebook a lot better...
Alright thats all until I think of something else....

  1. Well I'll bite...Women's groups were upset about the Go-Daddy ads. In fact they were pretty upset about the general tone of all of the ads. If you're interested I'll be happy to send you a few links on the general dissatisfaction, but basically 95% of the super bowl ads were saying women are horrible, soul crushing succubuses who are only good for entertaining real humans (men) at bachelor parties or taking away their will power to live unless they drive a Dodge.

The controversy over the Tebow ad came before the ad aired (and you're right, it was only "pro-life" in the sense that it directed viewers to go to Focus on the Family's website which is extremely pro-life). It was generally directed at CBS because they have traditionally taken a "no-controversial-topics" attitude during the Superbowl, and even turned down a gay-friendly ad for this reason, but let Focus on the Family air what they said would be an ad advocating making abortion illegal. So that' pretty hypocritical on CBS's side. The beauty of it is there was so much media attention before it happened, Mrs. Tebow's story and Focus on the Family got tons of press and were able to air the least "pro-life" ad ever, making women's groups look like they are crazy.

  2. I figured you might :)
Yes, I'm just curious why we can't ge the Go-Daddy ads removed in general since I feel like those are offensive to not only women, but parents with children who are trying to teach their kids not to view women as sex objects. I tend to be pretty laid back when it comes to stuff like commercials, but I hate those Go-Daddy ads!
